HealthLink, one of Europe’s leading specialists in medical device logistics, has officially launched operations in the United Kingdom, building on its successful operations in the Netherlands and North America.

This expansion marks a key milestone in HealthLink’s global growth strategy, offering end-to-end logistics solutions tailored specifically to the needs of the UK’s rapidly growing life sciences sector.

Operated by Staci UK from its state-of-the-art, ISO 13485-certified fulfilment centre at Frontier Park in Blackburn, Lancashire, HealthLink UK will deliver a comprehensive suite of services including third-party logistics (3PL), climate-controlled warehousing, fulfilment, distribution, customer service, back-office support, and global VAT deferment.

These localised fulfilment services will help strengthen the supply chain for medical device manufacturers across the UK, reducing lead times, improving efficiency, and ensuring regulatory compliance with stringent UK and EU regulatory standards in a fast-moving market.

Part of the Staci Group, HealthLink supports over 160 life science manufacturers globally through strategic distribution hubs in Memphis, Tennessee in North America, and Waalwijk, the Netherlands, complemented by an extensive network of international storage locations.

This global footprint now expands into the UK with the launch of the new operations, strengthening HealthLink’s commitment to efficient, localised supply chain solutions for the life sciences sector.

The UK operations will be headed up by Wayne Chapman, the serving CEO of Staci UK, who brings extensive experience in global logistics and supply chain optimisation to the role.

“We’re excited to bring our specialist services to the UK and support the logistics demands of a rapidly growing medical devices market,” said Wayne Chapman, CEO of Staci UK. “With the backing of Staci’s infrastructure and our dedicated team of industry experts, we’re uniquely positioned to enhance the supply chain for critical medical equipment.”

The decision to launch in the UK was driven by the significant growth of the local medical devices market, which was valued at approximately $17.67 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $31.94 billion by 2032.

With established operations in both the Netherlands and North America, this expansion not only capitalises on market potential but also strengthens synergies between HealthLink and its sister company, Staci UK. This synergy ensures seamless service integration, faster time-to-market, and compliance with stringent UK and EU regulatory standards.

The collaboration combines HealthLink’s sector-specific capabilities with Staci’s multichannel logistics expertise, enabling both firms to better serve the evolving needs of healthcare and pharmaceutical supply chains.

It also allows Staci to further diversify its logistics offering while leveraging the expertise of both organisations’ highly experienced teams to enhance the delivery of critical life-saving medical technologies across the UK.

Staci, a global leader in multichannel fulfilment solutions, is dedicated to the continuous improvement of logistics and fulfilment, whether via marginal gains and major upgrades.

Following a successful trial, Staci was able to reduce picking time per unit and order by 20% through the deployment of finger scanning technology over handheld scans, and as such Staci has invested in a wider rollout to create localised efficiencies for clients.

Order fulfilment is a cornerstone of supply chain operations, with the picking phase playing a critical role. Accurate and efficient picking ensures inventory accuracy, minimises order errors, and enhances overall operational productivity. Traditional handheld scanners have been the standard, but recent advancements in wearable technology, such as finger scanning devices, are setting new benchmarks for efficiency.

Finger scanning technology leverages lightweight, wearable scanners that allow workers to scan items hands-free. This design eliminates the need to pick up and put down handheld devices, streamlining the picking process and reducing physical strain. According to industry research, wearable scanning devices have been shown to improve productivity by up to 24% and reduce error rates by 63%, when compared to traditional handheld systems.

In a trial conducted for one of our eCommerce beauty brand clients, finger scanning technology led to:

  • A 20% reduction in picking time per unit and order compared to cluster scanners.
  • Improved inventory tracking accuracy.
  • Enhanced ergonomic comfort for warehouse operatives, leading to greater job satisfaction and reduced fatigue.

Ben Whitby, Staci’s Operations Director, said At Staci, we are constantly exploring innovations that enable us to deliver unparalleled service to our clients. Finger scanning technology not only enhances operational efficiency but also supports our commitment to employee well-being by reducing physical strain during the picking process.”

As the eCommerce sector continues to grow, technologies like finger scanning are poised to play an essential role in scaling operations while maintaining precision and speed. Staci is committed to adopting such forward-thinking solutions, ensuring that our clients remain competitive in an increasingly demanding market.

Multichannel Fulfilment Expert, Staci, is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for three awards at the 2025 Red Rose Awards.

Staci and its Team Members work tirelessly to provide outstanding services for their clients, and this effort does not go unnoticed. The logistics expert has also undergone huge changes this year, namely being acquired by bpostgroup, and as part of this, expanding to become part of a wider 3PL network of Staci, Active Ants, and Radial. The company has branched out into new markets, most notably of which is the medical devices industry. Staci converted a 5,000 sq ft area of one of their state-of-the-art Blackburn fulfilment centres to be a centre of medical device logistics excellence, and now help some huge names in this sector deliver their life saving devices directly to their customers.

Alongside this, Staci continues to invest time and resources into its Team Members through various different initiatives, such as mental health first aiders, on site trainers, treat days and birthdays off work, and much more. All of this creates an exemplary company culture, and has helped Staci increase their engagement rate from 56% to 77% – much higher than the logistics industry average which is just 28%. This has had benefits for their business financially, as they have seen a direct and positive correlation between their rising engagement rates and their profit growth.

Staci also continues to invest its time and resources back into the local community. By providing all Team Members with 3 paid volunteering days per year, they have been able to donate almost 500 hours of volunteering time to Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone, a local children’s charity, alongside an annual donation of £25,000. This makes Staci a Gold Patron of the charity, and their biggest corporate contributor to volunteering.

These efforts and changes throughout the business have been nominated for several awards at the prestigious Red Rose Awards: Large Business Award, Employer of the Year Award, and Transport and Logistics Award. The awards ceremony takes place on 13th March 2025.

Wayne Chapman, CEO of Staci UK, said: “I’m incredibly proud of Team Staci for all of the work they do for us. Their performance, dedication and fantastic work is the reason that we have been shortlisted for 3 prestigious awards. Not only have their efforts made Staci an attractive prospect for acquisition this year, it has also helped young people in their local area have a safe space to go to learn and play, which is something I’m really proud of. Being finalists in these awards is just a reflection of how much we appreciate them. Thanks so much to the judges of the Red Rose Awards for recognising the transformations and efforts that our Team Members have made.”

Staci is incredibly proud to announce that we are Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone’s top contributor to corporate volunteering.

Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone (BYZ) is a wonderful charity who provide a safe, warm space for children to go when they’re not at school. As part of this free service, the children get a free hot meal, and access to some fantastic facilities, such as careers advice from local businesses, a football pitch, boxing gym, dance studio, and many youth workers who are there to support their wellbeing and development.

Staci is passionate about supporting our local community, and seeing the brilliant work that BYZ do for Blackburn and Darwen’s most vulnerable children everyday, we knew we wanted to be involved and help the charity. We became a gold patron of BYZ in 2023 and have been donating to them ever since, leading to a total donation to date of £100,000. Not only that, but we also help fundraise for them and even get our brilliant clients involved, who donate stock directly to the children and also to us for raffles to raise money for them.

Most notably, Team Staci donate their time to BYZ. Every member of Team Staci gets 3 paid volunteering days per year, which most use during the summer to help BYZ when all of the children are off school and use of the Youth Zone is heaviest. 100 volunteers from Staci have dedicated almost 500 hours of their time to the charity, making us their biggest corporate contributor to volunteering. This relieves so much pressure from the staff at the Youth Zone, and also allows our Team Members to give back to their local community, which is an experience they find to be invaluable.

Wayne Chapman, CEO of Staci UK, commented: “We are incredibly passionate about helping out in our local community. We saw the valuable work that Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone continues to do every day, but we also know how much charities are struggling at the moment.

Since Covid-19, and the increasing cost of living crisis, use of the Youth Zone is at an all time high, while donations and volunteers have been lower due to people having less time and money to be able to spend. We didn’t want a charity like Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone, who give so much to young people, to end up struggling to provide their essential services.

I’m so proud of Team Staci for dedicating their time to give back to their local community, and it is an honour to be a gold patron of such a wonderful charity. Thank you to BYZ for all of the incredible work that you do.”

Multichannel fulfilment specialist, Staci UK, has been awarded their fourth ISO certification: ISO 45001.

Brands across the UK need to trust their expert logistics partners to carefully and comprehensively take responsibility to look after and act as ambassadors for their products whilst in the care of a 3PL.

Staci, as multichannel fulfilment experts, has built a reputation spanning 35 years for acting as brand ambassadors and as extensions to our clients businesses.

ISO certifications are international standards, globally recognised, and attesting that a business is running according to best practices.

ISO 45001 recognises that Staci’s systems for managing Occupational Health and Safety are in line with global best practices, with our health and safety assessments and proactive risk management systems reduce the severity and likelihood of hazards occurring in the workplace, leading to reduced workplace injuries, illnesses and accidents, and achieving consistent quality of service.

This certification shows Staci’s commitment to the protection of our team’s health, safety, and wellbeing, and will enhance long-term health and safety performance.

Staci UK’s Managing Director, Wayne Chapman, said of the certification:

“Dedication to the protection of Team Staci is essential to us, so the recognition of these efforts makes me very proud. This is Staci UK’s fourth ISO accreditation, with us already securing ISO 9001: Quality Management, 14001: Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 27001: Information Security Systems.”

“These certifications demonstrate Staci’s dedication to upholding extremely high standards of quality and environmental protection, as well as secure data systems, and a workplace that is safe and secure for our employees. We hold ourselves to very high standards in all areas of our business, and having this globally recognised is something that provides clarity and peace of mind to our clients and employees for a strong future of business together.”

“People are our great strength and keeping them safe is paramount. We’re delighted that our Team Members feel really well looked after and safe, and the provision of initiatives such as our Employee Assistance Programme, Online Wellbeing Assessments, and Mental Health First Aiders, alongside now achieving ISO45001 are just some of the reasons we were able to be awarded Best Large Logistics Employer in the UK and an official Great Place To Work.”

“Congratulations to all of Team Staci for contributing to this amazing achievement”
